Chapter 15

~ When You Wish Upon A Star ~

With some time on our hands as we prepare for the Queen's Mission against the Rewich Clan, the party decides to take up a tavern quest; to aid a local noble in securing his manor, from which he was forcibly evicted by a pack of kobolds...

The manor was indeed fit for royalty, fit with its own library, games room, and a banquet hall for the masses. But, we were here for a job, and here to get it done. With Luna peering through locked doors for reconnaissance, we initially spot two armed red kobolds guarding a much larger hall; communicating with evidently a larger army about their leader - a dragon named Kava.

A dragon spells trouble, but it's not something we haven't dealt with before. We felled a wyrmling by the name of Critoth not long ago, and our power was considerably weaker then. If a dragon comes, a dragon will be slain.

Ponk first led with the idea to have me feigning as hostage, to attempt to gain the kobolds' trust and worm through their numbers for a surprise attack. It worked well on the two initial guards, who seemed empathetic to Ponk's story - but the jig was up once the higher ranking kobold inventor saw through the lies, as we had no knowledge of their secret password.

As such, we fought through wave after wave of kobold sorcerers, warriors, inventors...until two were left standing; the original two kobold guards. They surrendered, and promised to bring us to Kava - who...as it turns out, was a pseudodragon, and very sorry for the entire misunderstanding.

You see, the kobold pack mistook Kava for a grand elder dragon when she was under the influence of an enlarging spell...and took over the Lord's manor in search for more suitable lodgings for said...grand dragon. Bloodshed that could've been avoided, but alas.

The two kobold guards finally introduced themselves by name of Gos and Vett - and the lord demanded reparations from the pair, through helping repair his manor. With Gos and Vett now in our ranks, they train under Ponk to form what could potentially be our Bastion's Honor Guard...

As for Kava...she decided to remain under Ina's care, after Ponk fed her a nice juicy roast ham from the Spring Festival...
